NSW Order 43 (Previously Order 41) Coal Board Medicals

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A NSW ORDER 43 (previously Order 41) COAL MINE WORKERS MEDICAL?

However, depending on your specific exposure group (SEG), the requirements of your medical may be different.

Don’t risk an inexperienced medical provider completing the wrong assessments costing you more money – Assist Group’s medical team is nationally accredited to complete the NSW Coal Mine Workers’ Health Scheme coal mine workers health assessments.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN A NSW ORDER 43 COAL MINE WORKERS MEDICAL?

Prior to your Order 43 assessment, you, or your employer, will be required to complete a Role Requirements form, detailing your position, specific exposure group (SEG) and mine site.

When attending an appointment for a NSW Order 43 coal workers medical assessment you will be asked to complete an Order 43 consent form and provided your medical history during assessment - you will be asked about any previous conditions, injuries or illnesses that may impact your ability to perform your role. There is also an in-depth questionnaire that will look deeper into your current lung health and any medical history specifically related to your lungs.

During your physical assessment, the following assessments will be completed:

  • Anthropometrics (Height, weight, body mass index (BMI))
  • Vision Tests (Near, Distance and Colour)
  • Audiogram (Screening Assessment)
  • Spirometry Assessment (Lung function testing)

  • Urinalysis for diabetes and disorders of the internal organs
  • Brief musculoskeletal assessment
  • Chest x-ray – completed to ILO (standard by a RANZCR approved radiologist
  • Respirator Fit Test (dependent on site requirements and SEG)

At the end of your examination, the Approved Medical Provider will review your assessment (including ILO standard chest x-ray report) before completing an Order 43 Report (certificate of fitness). This will then be forwarded to your employer to prove your capacity to work in the required role.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I REQUIRE ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENTS?
